same for chrome based browsers. an API that should never have existed in the first place.
Basically stopped watching twitch bwcause of the stupid fucking unskippable ads… and I’m glad i did, I’m never going back, fuck them and their bs ads. Much more free time :)
I must be lucky, I’ve not seen any ads on twitch.
Also, I don’t use twitch.
Solution: stop using Twitch.
The best life hacks are always in the comments
That’s gonna take a whopping 10 lines of userscript to defeat, hell I already had to use one to stop them from dropping the video quality when unfocused (so I could watch streams in PiP properly)
What’s the user script? I’m not familiar with Twitch and currently too lazy to dig into all of it.
ublock origin/twitch ad solutions on desktop, xtra or twire on mobile (for android, at least). either solution blocks ads for good.
Avoid minimizing or muting Twitch for a better experience.
Avoid enshittifying Twitch for a better experience.
We’re getting closer and closer to this:

Holy fuck it’s real

rofl why does the patent have the viewer stand up and cheer it
to show those people with difficulties standing who the real bosses are

Drink verification can.
That’s a full boycott from me, dawg.
Not even once. I’m good watching recycled twitch clips wherever they crop up. Fuck your business model with a pitchfork.
I guess I’ll continue never using twitch.
I too shall continue my boycott that begin in 1981
Yeah a website should not be able to tell where I am looking at or if my audio is muted or not.
But Bezos needs more money right, because he doesn’t have enough yet.
Blame the browsers for creating the APIs.
You mean Google.
No, I mean they all decide to adopt this shit.
These tools can be used for good applications though. Why punish good developers when bad actors are the problem?
There is no valid need for this API.
This API can be used to suggest users take breaks if they’ve been using a site for a long time.
The exact same API exists in desktop environments; it’s just part of the progressive OS-ification of the web.
yah but the problem is that other streaming platforms exist, and a fair few streamers multi stream so…
jeff might not have thought this through.
Well, so much for considering a return to twitch as an entertainment option
I’ve tried nothing, and I’m all out of ideas!
Laughs in adblocker
Twitch keeps dodging ublock origin
Adblock is more than ublock
What have you found that works on twitch?
personally i’ve had few issues with Twitch Alternative Viewer
Streamlink
gets arrested for using ad-blocking technologies
