The health of video games shouldn’t be measured by what Microsoft does. That’s like measuring the economy based on how a bunch of big companies are doing.

It’s inaccurate as hell and doesn’t actually take into consideration the small folks who make up the majority.

Growing up, the worst thing you could be was a guy who liked other dudes. Being called a fag and cocksucker was just like “casual” insults, the way Australians call someone a cunt.

Even worse is the constant harassment of indie devs.

Just constant “Is this AI?” And them demanding more and more evidence rather than letting the dev cook.

I was originally part of the “fuck the steam forums” because asshats would troll the forum to get steam emojis, which gave you some steam credit or something. So it was an incredible cesspool of shit.

But their last update made steam emojis worthless beyond being a extra status, and I think that’s making the forums more bearable.

Better mod tools. Better flagging of shit users. And maybe the steam forums can become a better place.

Because right now, if you want to talk to a fan of a indie game, you’re stuck finding some YouTube video comment or Reddit.

Fucking can’t stand these “edgy” comedians. These Temu Anthony Jeselniks. They think edgy means going against the norm, so if everyone hates something, they love it. And they make it their whole identity.

“Edgy” fucks simply see a woman as a lead in a action movie, and dismiss the movie. They see people hate Trump, and they go, “I love Trump!”

The amount of Hispanics who see Democrats not helping them directly and then vote Republican. Then they watch their family members get rounded up, hear their Republican senators lie to them, and then vote Republican again.

I like it! Every one of their profiles will be a punchable douchebag.

For the past decade, senator Rafael Edward Cruz, who immigrated here from Canada and who goes by a different name for some reason, continues to be the most shittiest human being to everybody. From dead naming people, to blocking social services, to fleeing Texas when it got too cold, texas being the state he immigrated to.

Yet people keep voting for him.

I have a humble bundle subscription for $15 for seven games. $2 a game and not all of them are winners.

But when a movie ticket is $15 for a two hour movie, seven games is cheap as hell.

And every few months, there’s a banger that surprises me and I end up growing my backlog even further.

So many good indie games that are under $10 that people sleep on.

Same. But somebody is. All the losers who buy every edition of FIFA or CoD brand new keeps this cycle going.

Call me pessimistic. Companies say they switched from paper bills to digital bills for “the environment”, and none of that trickles down back to the customer.

In many cities in America, private companies threaten cities demanding that they get paid to expand, or else they’ll leave.

Comcast demanded they get city investments to expand wifi to more of the city and even promised free wifi to public places. And after millions of city dollars given, they said, “nevermind”.

Whenever Gervais fails at a joke, he just complains about people being too sensitive and how you can’t even tell a joke anymore.

I wanted to say VLC because to me, it’s the gold standard of fully working open-source software that just destroys the commercial competitors.

But it’s not perfect only because society changes. New video formats forces VLC and open-source devs to adapt. Bigger video and new tech specs require VLC to update. If it wasn’t for all those external needs, VLC would be perfect.

Did I also mentioned the many times rich companies wanted to buy VLC and they laughed?
