Speaking another language is game changing, it doesn’t matter which language it is. It’ll make it much easier to learn another language, for example, because you’ll get a better grasp of grammar. In fact, that grasp of grammar will help you speak your own language better.
You’ll also be more likely to treat people who speak a different language as people rather than things.

I’m not sure if the fall of the US economy will take down other economies. The other economies will adapt. They’re already looking at adapting and working together with other economies.
Sadly my upstairs and downstairs neighbours are chain smokers. They close their windows and the balcony doors and I get all the (pot) smoke. Why does Germany have so many smokers?
My brother lost 24 jobs until he found one with a boss who knew how to deal with him. It didn’t help that my mother didn’t raise him properly “because he was special” and basically the boss had to teach him things like dressing properly, personal hygiene, and not buggering off on vacation without giving notice.
Where I lived (in Lancaster, UK) many houses didn’t have cellars because of radon. Not that they told you that, I found out accidentally.

Depends on where you live. There’s a school behind a row of terraced houses near me that uses bright floodlights all night. People have had to move their bedrooms to the front of their houses. The police refuses to do anything.
My art teacher died during an open evening. He had a heart attack right in front of a young girl showing a group of people around. That’s when we found out both janitors had lied about their First Aid training. The guy running the cantine had to do CPR until the doctor came running in 20 minutes later. 20 minutes is incredibly hard to do. I’m still wondering why nobody took over (there were hundreds of people there) and why they called a doctor, not an ambulance.
Rich people don’t care how you eat your pizza. Stuck up people do, but you get plenty of those without money.
The Netherlands teaches everyone English and it works.
