Anyone who thinks Xbox is still going to be worth anything is a fool. They overspent on gaming studios, didn’t produce anything of value, gamepass value went down, and now everyone hates them for the constant enshittification. Even stepping back from “This is lemmy and we all hate microsoft” they have done some horrible business moves with Xbox. I don’t know anyone who is positive about the brand. They have ran it firmly into the ground.

I wonder if this is a huge demotion for the AI guy. AI teams in Microsoft are “good” right now, I wonder if he fucked up in some way and they put him on xbox.

Hey don’t discount them that much, they also can’t make games either. They’re going for full on business-only approach, consumers are not a priority for them at all anymore.

And they want us to stay hyped about games. I refuse to believe any marketing garbage because I know now they’re just measuring hype to determine if they should keep making things. That is not a long term strategy

I absolutely feel you, but the best way to stick it to them is to ride transit as often as you are able with their shit schedules, and walk when you can. Metrics and ridership are what drives investment. Its stupid because it is actually backwards (investment drives ridership) but in america car is the only thing worth spending billions of dollars on.

For most of Americans this is a thought they honestly can’t grasp. Car culture and car brain are real. The first thing I head every time I see a post with a walkable neighborhood is “where is the parking?”. They truly never have thought about what life would be like without a car
As someone who has done both, programmer most recently, and has respect for both, you’re being very judgy. Both are difficult enough jobs without other tech fields bringing each other down.
If you’re a programmer and don’t see what is wrong…

Summarizing:
Which, all sounds fine. However, who defines all of these things? Who defines graphic imagery? Is it straight up porn? Is it a meme that has a naughty word in it? Is it anime? We have no idea.
Also as a server owner (who has moved everyone to Matrix now), I pretty much had to set my private server to age restricted, otherwise the server gets penalized if one of my users uploads something that is “graphic imagery” which again, is defined by them. The only safe way previously ways to say “Hey, you should be over 18 to join this” and then I’m not liable. I worry about a lot of servers taking the easy way and saying the same.
In the Midwest of the states it kills me. Hey here is the most fertile land ON THE PLANET and were just going to pave over it, add shitty suburban sprawl that will be bankrupt in 30 years, and kill the soil while we’re at it. So goddamn wasteful.
