Jesus… this is actually 1984 territory now. We all have “TV’s” (monitors) that actually monitor us. Yuck

This was satire, just making sure you knew
Re: your controversial take
If kids are old enough to vote and change the entire direction of the country, then IMO they are also responsible enough to drive, drink alcohol, handle firearms, etc… there’s a reason the age of adulthood is usually roughly 18, because it’s when human brains are mostly fully developed. I wouldn’t trust a TikTok addled teenager not to vote for the Labubu party just for the meme. I know I would have as a kid lol
Welcome to men’s fashion. It all boils down to top + pants and how well they fit on you. There’s a reason fashion games all feature female characters

I always thought of it like, we’re all comfy and safe social signal. It makes you feel a bit sleepy as well, and it’s contagious because it makes other people want to return the signal. That’s just my theory though. A personal theory!

Don’t forget the Monster energy drink in Death Stranding…

I’m pretty sure 90% of Fortnight characters are an ad now. Every real car in driving games like Gran Turismo is licensed and an ad. DotA2 did a Monster Hunter collab, which are basically ads.
Honestly I don’t even mind this kind of unintrusive ad. They can stay, and collabs can even be fun or enjoyable. That seems to be what they’re mostly talking about, alongside branded consoles to bring prices down. Or adding sponsored DLC to older games to bring back interest and make side money at the same time.
I think that’s the distinction here. If it’s something that fits naturally into the game and it’s part of the game, it’s ok. We’ve had this for years and nobody is complaining about it. But if they’re talking about animated banners or 30 second ad breaks between matches, they can fuck right off with that.
Early experiments included a custom Mountain Dew stadium “playable experience” in EA Sports College Football 26 and Visa branding in EA Sports FC.
"As we do these things, it’s ultimately around like, you know, are the players engaging with it? Are they talking about it? Is it ultimately leading to the brand being talked about and engaged in a positive way?”

I believe so. If you zoom in on the letters, it’s inconsistent with the capital R font between posters, which can’t really be explained by the angle, it’s a bit thinner or thicker in places:

Also, if you adjust for the angle of the posters, it’s not done a good job of keeping the face and text consistent at that angle. In these next photos I’ve edited the image to account for perspective so it’s as if the left and right closest posters are “face on”.

It’s getting hard to tell nowadays though, I could be wrong but I’m voting this is 80% likelihood of being A.I.

It’s really not obvious, and I still don’t fully understand what you’re actually trying to say. My comment was pointing out that it’s unlikely they’ll use those freed resources to hire more nurses, in response to other comments pointing out the nursing crisis. I’m guessing you disagree with me, and are expressing it in a roundabout way.
Of course everyone who disagrees with you is automatically a troll.

I made the mistake of using Google Photos before they became evil, and now I have a huge job on my to-do list to migrate all those photos
(—_—;)

I wasn’t referring to your comment in that part, and I’m definitely not annoyed. Some people get a bit judgemental about personal habits and I was just poking fun at those people

That makes sense. I can’t imagine what kind of stuff you’d back up that has so much storage needs though. My use case is I have 1 main PC at all times, I don’t even have 2 computers, and my phone. I want everything locally on my PC in case DropBox dies, and I want it on the cloud in case my PC dies. I only really use like 10GB of storage, and only that much because I put all my music on there too

Ok, so one question equals two things being mutually exclusive? This has to be the laziest attempt to start an argument I’ve seen on Lemmy so far

There’s no problem with TV in bedroom. I used to fall asleep to SpongeBob and Nickelodeon reruns, it kept me sane through school and was the only way I could sleep. I don’t do it nowadays, my life is much calmer and quieter now…
But I bet the same people saying they don’t believe in TV in bedroom, are scrolling their phone 3 inches from their nose, or watching YouTube on their iPad every night 😂

What’s it like using a projector? Can you just like, watch YouTube or anything on it? Is it good?

I noticed this as well. After every medical flare, I am extremely depressed for about 3 days. There is a huge difference in the way I think and feel about everyday activities. It’s very strange seeing yourself change like that, it’s a complete shift in character like when you take drugs or alcohol. Usually I just wait for it to pass; luckily it’s not too often in my case

I don’t get your point. There was like 8 things in my comment, which ones were not mutually exclusive?

Yesss… we could hire more nurses with the time and money savings of A.I., but instead let’s just fire them and make more money. Doesn’t this kind of prove that the nursing shortage is manufactured? They had the option here to help improve the situation but deliberately chose profits every time
Honestly tho how the fudge is it 2°C (35°F) outside? I’m not designed for this kind of weather, and it’s been sub-10 for what feels like ages now. Our Australian jackets are designed for mildly stiff breezes, not actual coldness
It’s very interesting that remakes and remasters seem to be stripping out the ads / in-game branding because the licensing expired or didn’t extend to the remake of the same game. For example Death Stranding remake is also removing the Monster cans and replacing them with generic energy liquid. I’m not sure what that means exactly, but it is a thing.
