Not sure how Morrowind is new weird? Is it not just alien fantasy? Sure most fantasy is meieval european based but those that aren’t doesnt automatiically make them “new weird”.
I really enjoyed the video game Control and analogue horror, so if those count then yes.

As is someone has to start from the beginning and progess again or the whole thing focuses on the humbling of a prideful and powerful MC?
I was pretty close to that too. My brother watched it when it had juat came out and showed it to me later.
