A shame really cause I’d love to see an on screen version of the tyrant. Also happens to be my favourite to listen to with all the philosophy (not saying I agree with it but makes me ponder on it’s ideas).
I do sort of understand how when 90% of the book is narration or internal monologue with minimal action can be made into a film that captures the essence of the original and be entertaining enough to follow the Dune movies.
That said they dropped most of the philosophy anyways for the movies and completely changed scenes. That was the worst part, no Paul crying one of the most impact scenes for the first novel.
Mean movie changes happen but that scene was very important for Paul’s rise with the Fremen and then they turned it into Jessica … The Benne gesserit trained woman almost puking, those ladies know how to control themselves (to the temperature for Reverend mothers) I’m sure an acolyte could hold back vomit
I did watch the StFy series once, though I thought ummmm (young professor x) was old I can see why they didn’t use children. I don’t think any could pull off the twins for their physical age but wasn’t the same. Since least Leeto is basically the oldest person in existence by others experience.
Long reply but my favourite series of all time, I’ve listen to the audio books 15-20 times now (mostly just finish chapter house and go back to Dune for my cleaning / cooking time etc). Never kept count honestly but been doing it for least 5 years now. Should renew my library card keep forgetting.
