It also explains why European social safety nets have eroded over the last 35 years despite populations that are more productive than ever.

i wonder how the europeans will react and i hope it’s not like the americans.

what i mean by that is americans have repeatedly been shown that neoliberal policies have repeatedly eaten away at the already meager social safety nets of the united states, yet americans continue to double down on the political duopoly that created the neoliberal policies nonetheless.

mexicans, on the other other hand, also got see how neoliberal policies were fucking them over but they collectively abandoned their political duopoly and that’s why shienbuam and the morena came into existence and why they are in charge. (at least for now until the united states invades to reverse this sort of social progress… again).

the europeans, mexicans, and americans all technically have multiple parties; but in all systems only two parties are ever outright winners of their respective systems and the americans are only unique in that it’s more liberal party (aka the democrats) use the legal system to ban other parties.

europe will go absolutely full unhinged suicidal fascist when a critical mass of voters feels betrayed enough by the mainstream politicians.

considering meloni, AFD, and starmer’s divorce from his base; it sounds like europe is already in its first stages.

Maybe Europeans can chime in why leftist parties never seem to achieve political power, leaving fascists the only ones presenting an alternative to the system that’s eroding before everyone’s eyes.

generations of anticommunist brainwashing plus the pre-existing deeply embedded white supremacy will do that to you

it’s not an accident. the united states fostered compatible leftist groups immediately after world war 2 to prevent europeans governments and people from going communist in a similar way to how the united states fostered pro-fascists groups in the global south to keep the global south from going communist as well.
