The GOP’s sweeping new anti-voting bill cleared the U.S. House Wednesday, setting up a high-stakes battle in the Senate.

The House voted 218-213 to pass the SAVE America Act, which experts have said could disenfranchise millions by requiring voters to show documentary proof of citizenship at registration and to provide photo ID when they cast ballots.

Republicans have argued for voter ID broadly, pointing out that there isn’t much to prevent a noncitizen from casting a ballot in a federal election — besides the fact that it’s a felony, easily caught, and would lead to deportation all for the chance to cast one out of hundreds of thousands of votes.

      I live in the PNW and am surrounded by progressive people and hear “Zionist” used as a perjorative for fasciast frequently. Hell, I could easily go into a local coffee shop or bar and find a sticker that will have a “fuck zionists” message on it. Hell, one of my best friends is of Jewish heritage, and is the biggest critic of the Zionist movement I know, to the point where he even attends a moderately sized local synagogue that’s also critical

      So obviously there are US citizens in the PNW that use that language. But I’ll be sure to tell them that according to some random internet gate keeper of the American English dialect says they don’t talk like an American.

        First, I will repeat … no one really talks like that in the US. Second: You all have GOT to be bots or idiots, because I dont think the word zionist means what you think it means. A Zionist is a person who supports the movement for the development, protection, and self-determination of the Jewish people in their ancestral homeland, Israel. Originating as a late 19th-century nationalist movement, Zionism advocates for a Jewish state, a goal achieved in 1948, and remains a core ideology for many Jews supporting Israel’s existence.

        How the fuck is a zionist a fascist? Because Palestinians call Israelis zionists? Yea, if you run in middle eastern circles you might hear it, but 95% of the US doesnt talk like that. It is what it is.
