The only place I’ve seen or heard about anyone wanting to take guns from anyone has been from right-wing conspiracy theorists and right-wing talking heads who use that shit to scare right-wing idiots into voting against their best interests by conflating sensible gun laws with taking all guns away. I know of no democrat voter who doesn’t own a gun nor any that don’t want them to be available. Seriously, even if you don’t see or answer these questions, it’s super cool you’re doing this and I’m glad one of the first on the platform is for Star Trek!

I doubt my skills are sufficient enough in anything I make, feel less confident in it, and more judged by others critiquing me for it. I know I don’t suck at what I’ve done so far, but I never feel good enough to share my work with the public at large.

I feel this in my very creaky bones! I, too, have fond memories of playing EverQuest on a 56k modem and thinking how cool it was that I could play with people from all over the country and world. At least until someone picked up the phone and got me killed mid-fight! Ted wasn’t all that right with his choice of targets, but his assessment of our broken system back then was spot on, I agree. I wish technological improvements since those days didn’t come with the side of techno-fascism that we see today.

Yup, you sound exactly like me! I think others can be put off because of the things you highlighted, which I also overuse. I’d rather come off as jovial in my writing than mean or angry. If that means I gotta use old school ASCII faces, I’ll overuse the shit out them! ;)

I agree with your assessment and concern. Thank you for both! I have always had a strong sense of justice and morality. But I also love redemption stories. I believe in forgiveness, but only for those who demonstrate remorse, including MAGA and fascists. I know people can change, not just pretend to be better. My chief complaint about the ultra wealthy is that they could have enough to have the life they do without killing the planet and bleeding everyone dry, but they actively choose not to. There is a fundamental flaw in their brain and no amount will ever be enough for them.

I don’t blame a tick or flea for existing. They didn’t ask to need the blood of others to survive. But most parasites only take enough to perpetuate their species and then move on. Greed has no limit, proven time and again across history. My beef is that they could have their blood and move on, but that isn’t enough. There is no enough with these people. We didn’t need to live like this, but their endless greed makes the world a shittier place.

As far as I’m concerned we tried to keep the balance through the levers of govt. and policy. They (those who think like the authors of Project 2025) came along and smashed the system to pieces. We have very little recourse, as such, to enact change going forward that won’t include their removal from society. They own our police, our media, our politicians, our food sources, and our courts. Now, using what they’ve hoarded, they have destroyed the government systems that provide for anyone but them and told the rest of us to eat shit and die.
