Big Obama drinking water in Flint, Michigan vibes. The man knows exactly what poison he’s selling, and that he has to balance the risks of eating it vs. the need to do so on camera.

That’s a stupid take.
First, obviously Kamala was the lesser of two evils. That’s not how elections work. These are broad, statistical events, and no amount of voter shaming is going to fix running a shit platform.
Second, stop framing wanting the end to the genocide as a left issue. If you read the article you’d know she lost far more moderate and independent voters to the issue. Fact is, most people just didn’t vote - she lost to the fuckin couch.
Third, Jesus Christ get some media literacy. The article says it cost her votes, not that it cost her the election. There are a host of issues that cost the election, including Gaza. Don’t pretend that people protesting over it at the DNC, the only major convention hosting people that might give a shit, was what did it.
Fourth, Jesus Christ, you think protesting at the RNC would do fuckall? Republican voters only started trending negatively on Gaza when Nazis started saying politicians were supporting the Jews.

My biggest issue is that even what she’s “good” at, she’s not really. She’s witty and mean to people I think deserve it, but her voting record is almost a perfect overlap with Hakeem Jeffries. “Charismatic Jeffries” doesn’t mean shit to me.

Since Musk bought it? Yes-ish. Per Business of Apps, Twitter has maintained around the same user counts, but that is through gains and losses across demographics. Women have fled the platform; what used to be fairly equal is now 2:1 men to women. US users are down 15%-20%. What has grown commensurately is right wing international users, further skewing the average political slant on the platform.

Honestly I wonder if this skews the data at all. 10 people use Twitter, 1 of which is fascist; 5 decent people leave, and now the site is 10% more fascist. Is that driving users more rightward, or driving off more left audiences?

Mmm, I mean, sentience is a gradient, right? The mirror test is where we decided to draw the line, but there are more places to do so. My toddler thinks his favorite toy has some level of agency, just as by all accounts his older sister thinks Bluey has an identity. Depending on the test, there are developmental markers where we statistically transition from failing to succeeding. Another way to look at it is that for each developmental range, we can develop tests that challenge how we perceive autonomy, which some people succeed at and others fail. We may have just inadvertently developed a test that a significant amount of adults are just going to fail as human beings.

Bro I agree, and I say this with love, but Collins is a Republican
Yeah, look I’ll stand on cancer and obesity; bro was fuckin cooked
